Ciao Mike!
A speedy post to share with you two great initiatives.
- realizzare una tovaglietta da colazione di cm.42x32, in lino, cotone, feltro, pannolenci etc. decorata, ricamata, dipinta, uncinettata con i colori dell'autunno (rosso,giallo, marrone ,arancione,tutte le tonalità del verde) e con i temi dell'autunno (foglie, funghi,castagne, zucche,uva e chi ne ha più ne metta);
- aggiungere una matassina di cotone da ricamo o cotone lanato nei colori che preferite;
- aggiungere della passamaneria o dei bottoni possibilmente in tema autunnale (specifico possibilmente);
The first one is a very unique and stunning swap by my dear friend Franca from Ho preso il filo.
It’s a mix beetween a swap and a blog candy (I am not sure if you say blog candy or giveaway) for she reached 1000 visits.
The theme of the swap is Fall and you have to:
- make a little tea towel (cm 42x32) with every kind of stuff and tecniques, including all the colours, the fruits, the vegetables which are typical of this season of the year.
- add a mouliné (or wool, cotton or whatever you prefer) thread;
- add some buttons and braids (if possible they should recall Fall);
- add only one other objetc (not handmade)…and…dulcis in fundo…
- you have to add a recipe typical of your country.
You have also to e-mail the receipe to Franca because she will exctract 3 receipes from all those received and the winners will win a delicatessen typical from Franca’s country.
What can I say more? You have to take part to this swap for it’s stunning!
The second one is a wonderful charity inititive taken by Chiara from Le Mani che creano for all those children who are housed in an orphanage in Georgia where she worked as a volounteer some years ago.
To help these children you have to make a Christmas handmade gift such as a doll, a teddy bear, a little bag and so on (you will find more informations on Chiara’s blog).
I think we should try “to spread a smile of joy” on these chidren’s face at Christmas time. In the orphanage there are about 110 children but, you know, "United we stand, divided we fall".
Un abbraccio.
Hugs.

Eccomi qui!
Ciao a tutte!
Hello everybody!
My holidays are over (sigh sob) and I’m coming back to the daily routine. Actually, I have to say that this year I find much more difficult than usual to come back to everyday life.
Luckily you cheer me up with your wonderful blog full of charming creations, with your comments, with your awards.
About awards, I’d like to thanks some dear friends.
Lara of La Casetta sull’Albero gave me this prize which, according to me, has a very meaninful name: “the circle of friends”
I think it’s a wonderful prize! Thanks Lara for thinking of me as a friend: it’s a great honor.
I give this prize to all of you who come visit my blog, who e-mail me, who send me hugs and kisses on Facebook.
New beautiful and important friendships are growing … I’m so happy…
Both Lara and Elena (La Fiera dei Fiori) tagged me for a funny game.
You have to say 10 things about you. You have to say the truth, of course.

Jalo gave me this wonderful prize. I give this prize to my blog followers
To Marzia (Tartamilla) best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I would like to welcome Adriano, Ezia’s new baby born.
I think the birth of a new life is a wonderful thing, a sign of hope.
A seminarian friend of mine use to say (and I think it’s true): "Every child born is a sign that God isn’t tired of men yet".
Well, I have to leave you now but I'll be back tomorrow because I have a lot of things to share with you.

Siii!!! Sono dei gattini!!!
It’s quite normal to make new friends when you go on holiday. Well, the friends I’ m talking about are a little bit special: they have four paws, whiskers and long tails…Yes!!! They’re kittens.
They live up on the roof (as in the Atistocats) and I can see them from my windows kitchen. They’re so cute and sweetie!!
I love them so much!
I've been tagged by my dear friend Manka. You have to take the book you're reading, turn to page 161, find the 5th sentence and cite it on your blog.
Then you have to pass the game on to 5 other bloggers.
The book I’m reading at the moment is written by Candace B. Pert, a scientist of the Georgetown University. Its title is Molecules Of Emotions and talks about the relationship between mind and emotions.
Librino leggero vero?
At the fifth sentence of page 161 you can read:
”By stimulating the nerve vague through electrodes implanted in the hypothalamus, at the base of the brain, a little more about the pituitary gland, Canon has demonstrated that the physiological changes in these organs [pupils, stomach, adrenal glands ...] were consistent with the needs of the body in a state of emergency, when resources were to be handled quickly, efficiently, automatically, without thinking only able to spend time.”
It’s a little bit difficult for me to translate this sentence so I used the translator and make some corrections: I hope you can understand.
To play this game (if you like playing it, of course) I tag…

Holiday!
Hi! From this day on I’m on holiday! I’m posting from barga a very charming little town situated on the edge of the Garfagnana region (in Tuscany) and called the most Scottisch town in Italy.
That’s because, in the early part of the century, many barghigiani (people who live in Barga) emigrated to Scotland. Later they came back to their home town or come here on holiday.
British and American painters have found ample inspiration both in Barga and the surrounding region.
It’s not too strange to hear English speaking here and, actually, there is an English library (or better a books exchange), a newspaper written in English and a bilingual web site called Barganews.
That’s what I can see from my window: It’s a beautiful view, isn’t it?
In the past few days I stitched a lot. I realized this welcome banner. Do you like it?
It was very difficult to stitch the angel because of the many changes of colour and the many half stitches (I hate them!).
Un abbraccio, a presto.
Hugs.

Swap Lizzie Kate e giochino estivo
Ciao a tutte. Come state?
Hi! How are you? It’s very hot today in Pisa and we’re melting down as snowmen in the sun.
Today I’d like to show you what I received from Anna Maria from Fili di Follia, a very talented crafter, for the Lizzie Kate Swap.
It’s a set made by a pinkeep, a little round box with a measuring tape and a little scissor fob. When I opened the yellow envolop, I was flabbergasted!!!
I have no other words to describe what Anna made for me that : stunning, amazing, gorgeous! It was such a long time I had liked to stitch something similar: Anna must have been reading in my mind. Thanks Anna I liked it so much!

Nanny’s back
Ciao a tutte!
Hello everybody! I’m back again!
I wasn’t on holiday (not yet: I’m leaving next Monday) nor I started a new job.
.
I only decided to change my blog template but, unfortunately, I mismanaged and lost all my widgets
![]()
So I had to do an extra work and insert them again!!!
From this post on, I decided to add a translation of my posts for all the English speaking friends because the translations made by the translator don’t make any sense at all sometimes.
Hope not to make too much mistakes because my English is a little bit rusty. Be merciful: don’t give me an F!
This evening I’m going to show you the scarecrow I realized for the Tilda’s Scarecrow Swap organized by Sabrinaesse in her Club Tilda Italy.
It’s a summer scarecrow. Sunflowers are its favourite flowers (I love sunflowers too). It’s a very kind and gently scarecrow and, as you can see, a little ladybird is resting on its arm.
I haven’t received mine yet: I wonder how it’s gonna be.
